FreeStyle Libre 14 Day Sensor

The FreeStyle Libre System is the only CGM able to maintain accuracy over 14 days without needing fingerstick calibration or sensor coding and it gives your first reading just one hour after sensor application.

The sensor for the FreeStyle Libre System is small, discreet and water resistant. The sensor is worn on the back of the upper arm. The thin design of the FreeStyle libre sensor has a thickness about the size of two stacked quarters. The sensor can easily be scanned through clothing. After the 1 hour start-up period, the sensor can be worn for up to 14 days. The FreeStyle libre sensor automatically measures glucose every minute. No finger-stick calibrations required.

How accurate is the FreeStyle Libre 14 Day sensor?

The FreeStyle Libre 14 Day system demonstrates exceptional accuracy, stability, and consistency over 14 days without the need for fingerstick calibrations. It achieves a Mean Absolute Relative Difference (MARD) of 9.5%, with 99.7% of readings falling within clinically accepted accuracy zones.

How long does the FreeStyle Libre sensor last?

The FreeStyle Libre sensor is designed to stay adhered to the back of the upper arm, delivering precise glucose readings for up to 14 days. After this period, users can remove the sensor by gently peeling off its adhesive pad.

How do you apply the FreeStyle Libre 14 Day sensor?

The FreeStyle Libre sensor is easily applied to the back of the upper arm using a disposable applicator. During application, a small 5mm filament is inserted just under the skin and secured with an adhesive pad. Most users report minimal discomfort during this process.

Can I purchase the FreeStyle Libre sensor over the counter?

Yes, you can buy the FreeStyle Libre 14 Day sensor over the counter at Diabetic Warehouse. We offer both individual sensors and packs of two for your convenience.

Can I swim with the FreeStyle Libre sensor?

Yes, the sensor is designed to be worn during bathing, showering, swimming, or exercise. It should not be submerged beyond 1 meter (3 feet) or exposed to water for more than 30 minutes. The adhesive is crafted to securely and comfortably hold the sensor in place for up to 14 days.

Can I pass through a metal detector with the FreeStyle Libre sensor?

For some reason insurance is resistant to paying for a tool that will ultimately allow the user to modify behavior and get off meds, ultimately saving a great deal of money and heartache for everyone. I find there is about a ten-point difference between the CGM and a conventional glucose monitor. If you allow for that difference and can keep both in the healthy zone there will be drastic improvements. I went from 6.9 A1c to 5.5 in about 4 months. The downside of "getting healthy" is it disqualifies you for the tools that keep you that way. Considering all the garbage and nonsense we are sold to treat us when we are fat and sick the price of a Continuous Glucose Monitor seems like a bargain. The Freestyle Libre 3 is easy to use, painless, and allows you to be constantly aware of the effects of food, exercise, and other stresses without turning your fingers into hamburger.
